EMULSOGEN 4084
EMULSOGEN 4084
CAS number : 9003-11-6; Emulsogen 4084, Exosel 4084 : NONIONIC EMULSIFIER FOR EMULSION POLYMERIZATION. Emulsogen 4084 – Exosel 4084 is used as nonionic emulsifier for the emulsion polymerization of monomers like pure acrylic,
styrene-acrylic acid esters and vinyl acetate. Chemical characterization: Polymerisation product of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide
Use
Emulsogen 4084 is used in emulsion polymerization of polyvinyl acetate, acrylate and styrene/acrylate dispersions to stabilize the rheological behavior of the polymer dispersions and to improve the electrolyte and shear stability.
Storage and Shelf Life: Please keep the product in a dry and clean place. Before use of Emulsogen 4084 heat the product to 50°C – 55°C. After heating the product can be dosed in
liquid form. The shelf life is at least two years when stored in tightly closed containers at 20-25°C in a clean and aerated place. After this period the product should be
analyzed for extension of the shelf life.
Emulsogen 4084 by Clariant/Ataman is a non-ionic, APEO-free, low VOC (less than 1%) ethylene oxide (EO)-propylene oxide (PO) block copolymer with an ABA structure consisting of 60 wt% ethylene oxide units. The A block is hydrophilic and the centered B block is hydrophobic. Acts as an emulsifier. Exhibits low foaming and offers good wetting & dispersing properties. It stabilizes the rheological behavior of the polymer dispersions and improves the electrolyte & shear stability. Is resistant to water, hardness salts, acids and alkalis in the concentrations normally used. This pale yellow wax needs to be melted at 60°C and added in parts to hot water (95°C) under stirring until the solution becomes clear. At 25°C, it forms a clear aqueous solution in a concentration of 25% and below. More concentrated aqueous solutions of Emulsogen® 4084 become waxy at room temperature. It can be used in combination with other non-ionic, anionic and cationic surfactants. Used in emulsion polymerization of polyvinyl acetate, acrylate and styrene/acrylate dispersions. Complies with FDA regulations and is listed in AICS, DSL, EINECS, ENCS, IECSC, NECI, KECI, NZloC, PICCS and TSCA.
Preservation: No preservative is added.
