Sit and Slim II

Sit and Slim II

Sit and Slim II is marketed as a weight-loss supplement. The FDA did not name a manufacturer, but Sit and Slim II is sold on websites like Amazon.com and possibly some retail stores for $18-19. The box is marked in Chinese and English.
The FDA warns:

“The product poses a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke.”

Sit and Slim II also contains phenolphthalein, a laxative that was sold in over-the-counter products like Ex-Lax and Feen-A-Mint for most of the 20th century. The FDA revoked approval after studies found a wide range of carcinogenic (cancer-causing) side effects.
